Pet Rock Posters
In order to evaluate students' understanding of the properties of rocks, they were asked to create a Pet Rock Poster. They had to create a name, describe the Pet Rock's features, and promote the purchase of their rock.
What a great creative project that is fun for kids but also allows you to assess their understanding and depth of knowledge about the characteristics of rocks! I'd love for you to send this link to the Science Council, because I'm thinking of a thousand different ways they could use something like this for an informal check of knowledge in multiple content areas!
